CurrentEPEC Group was founded in 2019 by Chris Kennedy, Mark Parker and myself, when we saw an opportunity to draw together our specialist skill sets and develop a dedicated high voltage connection service for the industry. Since then, EPEC Group has rapidly evolved to become a market leader in integrated high voltage solutions, primarily supporting Australia’s rapid transition to renewables. We are specialists in HV Grid Connection, Engineering, EPC, SCADA and Testing and Compliance Services with a deep understanding of the regulatory environment, enabling us to focus on offering our client’s certainty in delivery, from concept to connection. Our team’s expertise covers renewables (solar, wind and battery), conventional generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure including high voltage substation plant and equipment, overhead and underground powerlines, HVDC, STATCOMs and synchronous condensers. At EPEC we provide connection services for generation projects connecting to electricity networks, with a particular focus on inverter-based systems including solar, wind, battery storage and compensation devices. Our growing power system engineering team provide specialist services utilising PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerFactory and Hypersim in both EMTP and RMS domains for studies from pre-enquiry to connection application and registration phases. Working in collaboration with our engineering team, EPEC’s delivery team routinely test and commission inverter-based systems including activities such as generator compliance, R2 hold point testing, and high voltage switching. As a licensed electrical contractor EPEC typically carry out services under consultancy service, EPCM, and EPC agreements.Our knowledge of the regulatory environment and taking a risk-based approach to technical outcomes means certainty in delivery and improves speed to market for our generation customers.
