Planning and executing up-rate and improvement projects for AltaRock at their operating generation facilities, including the Blue Mountain Geothermal Power PlantProviding support to plant operations and management in the operations of the facility.

The Newberry EGS Project is a collaborative project between AltaRock Energy and the US DOE. Conventional geothermal projects utilize 'already existing' geothermal reservoirs. These include 'dry steam' such as the Geysers projects or 'hydrothermal' such as the Imperial Valley and the Nevada Basin and Range projects. This projects at Newberry seeks to 'create' a geothermal reservoir in an area where significant heat-in-place exists but permeability and reservoir fluids do not.Earlier this year the USFS and US BLM approved permits to proceed with the demonstration of this concept. With their cooperation, the project is moving forward.Much logistical work is necessary to set the stage for the demonstration to take place in September 2012. The foundation work of integrating all site activities and setting up the infrastructure to allow this project to go forward is already underway. Now if we only have an abundant BUT late (October) winter!

Upgrade the performance of the power plant facility starting with a steam path uprate.

SkyFuel is a premier developer and marketer of State-of-the-Art CSP Systems for stand alone Utility Scale Solar Facilities world wide and for augmentation of conventional and alternative power projects for selected domestic and international clients.I provided conceptual system design and optimization of CSP systems to customer applications and projects.

GGE is a developer of utility scale geothermal power generation projects applying proven geothermal technologies to challenging projects world-wide.My role as Sr. Project Engineer/Project Manager included providing guidance and leadership to the development team in defining fundamental elements of project, including overall project definition and execution, developing surface facility and plant layout schemes and defining options for electrical transmission and site access. This development work included optimizing the power cycle process, defining EPC and construction scope and matching the plant and surface facilities to the evolving resource conditions.

Caithness Energy/Terra-Gen is one of the largest geothermal power generation operators in the world. Caithness/Terra-Gen is a developer of Geothermal, Wind and Solar power projects.During my tenure, I detailed and executed capital improvements to existing facilities based upon optimization of facilities to increase output, reliability and efficiency with minimal capital expense. I provided power plant engineering and plant operations engineering services (or managed outside services when required) for the Caithness Operating Co./Terra-Gen fleet of generators consisting of 12 geothermal steam turbines at 3 separate locations.I also provided Project and technical services to the fleet of 3 GE Frame 7EA SSGT units installed in the west. During this tenure all three units, at individual times, underwent the only major planned overhaul for the life of the unit and the project.

As an independent consultant, provided geothermal power plant consulting serivces for the following projects:Dixie Valley Power: a 28MWn geothermal Power Plant in Dixie Valley, NVRye Patch Geothermal: a 16MWn geothermal Power Plant near Winnemuca, NV.MH Whittier Oil Co.: a 10MWn natural gas fired gas turbine for Steam generation for oilfield EOR operations.

Provided Engineering Technical Support Services to the Power Contracts Business Gp.of PG&E Corp. in support of evaluation of PURPA QF Facilities that were under contract to PG&E to supply independent power to the utility. The range of facilities evaluated for technical and operational compliance included from 2-on-1 CCGT projects, Renewable Projects (Geothermal, Wind, Solar, Biomass), Diesel-CHP Projects and Waste Heat Recovery Projects.
