Michael's passion is making Taylor University's unique education more accessible and affordable to all students through annual and endowed scholarships. He helps donors leave legacies for themselves and their loved ones. Sharing and telling their stories with the next generation of students is his passion. Through his enthusiastic efforts, scholarship dollars raised and agreements signed have grown from an average of $1.5 a year to $3.5 million.

Michael served in a dual role helping to identify and raise dollars for endowed and annual scholarships for Taylor University students while caring, connecting, and celebrating for and with Fort Wayne campus alumni whose campus had been discontinued in 2009.

My role is to care for Fort Wayne campus alumni and friends, connecting them to each other, and celebrating the impact of this campus and her alumni here and around the world! I am responsible for our publications, the FW Falcon, our monthly e-newsletter, and our FW Vine, our semi-annual mini-magazine. I also plan events and network. I could not do this without our volunteers who have averaged giving 4,000 hours per year the past four years doing various tasks. Lastly, I raise a portion of our budget, and I am in the process of raising an endowment for our future funding needs.

Wrote news and feature stories. Designed and laid out generally two to four pages per paper. I took my own photos, processing them in the darkroom. Occasionally, I also sold advertisements to provide revenue for the paper. Subscriptions increased by six percent, and we incorporated a new look and format for the tri-weekly paper.
