Communicates potential Lifting issues before they impact business performance. Provision of strategic and practical guidance to SPU and Major Project management on lifting issues.•Manages the SPU (Strategic Performance Unit) assurance program for lifting Ensures that processes and systems are in place for identifying and managing lifting and rigging risk. Ensures competent lifting operators are available to perform the lifting and rigging activities with necessary training certification. Ensures that rigging tools, equipment and machinery are fit for use and have the appropriate certificate of conformity as per company regulations.Ensures that lift plans and risk assessments are developed and conducted for all major lift operations and that they are adequate for proper, safe execution.Ensures that consistent systems and processes exist for the inspection and certification of Lift equipment utilized by the SPU and that a BP owned equipment Database is maintained and updated. Ensures any Lifting contractor contracted by the SPU is properly certified and provided with operational instructions and guidance appropriate to the term and nature of the business. Endorse complex or complicated lifting plans and Risk Assessments associated with the Lifting activities.Endorse modifications to lifting equipment as part of the MOC (Management of Change) processObserve and assure the safety and procedural compliance of major lifting operations as appropriate.Participate in any incident investigations on lifting related incidents.Developing a Community of Practice on Lifting through the SPU; serves as mentor for SPU lifting technical personnel as appropriate.
