I acted as an onshore liaison for commercial motor vessels non-local to the areas of Southern New England. As an agent I was responsible for the proper entry and departure of the vessel, overseeing all Customs Documentation, and assisting the vessel with any requests they may have. My knowledge of local waterways and plethora of maritime contacts were the driving factor that helped me to accommodate a vessel in any way they may need. The main focus of my experience was with dry bulk, tanker, and project cargo vessels, which all present their own unique challenges in ensuring a safe and successful port call. I also spear-headed the creation of our Offshore Wind Team and learned to create many new solutions for the unusual activity of these vessels in our area.

In addition to normal bartender duties the bar manager is responsible for all inventory recording, menu design and production, as well as ensuring the staff is well trained. In my time at Somo I was able to make a whole curated drink menu from scratch, and constantly made changes to other menus as our goal was to keep things fresh and new. Managing inventory with budget, sales, and profit in mind also became a very apparent factor of my position which has taught me to prioritize what items to restock and what could wait.
