    As the Deputy Chief of Mission, I serve as the COO of a 800-person Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, charged with overseeing all our bilateral and regional foreign policy goals. These include promoting economic and social development programs, regional and bilateral national security challenges, trade and investment, human rights and anti-trafficking in persons efforts, and cultivating the next generation of Cambodia leaders. I also led the evacuation of over 2500 people, including 800 Americans, from a stranded cruise ship at the beginning of COVID, and led the Embassy during the long Federal government shut down in 2018. I advised the Ambassador on all these matters, as well as internal management, navigating COVID protocols and personnel issues, and serving as Charge d'Affaires in between Ambassadors from November 2018 to September 2019.
