As a Maintenance Control Officer in the Army, I was responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance operations for military equipment and vehicles. This role involved managing maintenance teams, planning and prioritizing work to ensure equipment readiness, and tracking maintenance progress through detailed reporting. I worked closely with unit commanders to align equipment availability with operational needs, and I ensured compliance with technical manuals, safety standards, and Army regulations. I was active duty Army, then joined the Army National Guard. I worked my way through multiple ranks and became an effective problem solver. I became well known for being a results oriented leader. I always met target goals and I have various accolades and achievements. The U.S. military has made me a self-starter and detail-oriented. my active duty ended in 2012 although I continue to serve in the Hawaii Army National Guard.

In this position I am responsible for the maintenance of various equipment and systems within the hospital. I handle equipment such as boilers and chillers. I also handle medical air, vacuum pumps, and fire suppression systems. I perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment such as air handlers and VFD boxes and cooling towers. My daily tasks include testing boilers, checking low water safety, boiler blow down for conductivity, make sure steam traps and check valves work, and in-house projects. I also became proficient in writing reports, sending professional emails, and attending meetings to coordinate maintenance schedules and needs.

This company is a site management company with various locations across Oahu. I perform several functions as a facilities management intern here, such as assisting the facility manager in project management. In this position, I have written proposals for services and projects, as well as proposed energy and financial savings plans. The project management duties include communicating with multiple companies to coordinate work and scheduling. I also typed up warning notices for tenants and condominium owners and communicated with them about daily operations of the buildings.

In this role, I conducted pre-inspections on incoming vehicles and diagnosed mechanical issues. After identifying problems, I would either perform necessary services or repairs. I also specialized in servicing and repairing specialty vehicles, including small tour buses and tow trucks, for companies such as Aloha Hawaii Tours and 808 Towing. My responsibilities included ordering parts and tools, ensuring their security, and managing keys on a daily or weekly basis. Additionally, I handled vehicle marketing for sales and provided guidance to other mechanics on proper part replacements. This company was a local startup in Hawaii, aiming to introduce a new business concept, which eventually led to its successful sale and transition to new ownership.
