As an Engineering Intern at Lear Corporation’s Connor plant during the summer before my senior year in college, I had the incredible opportunity to work on diverse projects that developed my skills in polymer engineering and operations efficiency. I had the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of engineers to contribute to the development of innovations, solutions and streamlined processes.Key experiences included:• Prototype Development: I played a role in the design and production of a prototype for a sealing part utilizing 3D printing technology with ABS filament.• Redesign of Storage Systems: I contributed to the improvement of operations by working on the redesign and optimization of the plant’s storage systems. I assisted in developing a plan that accommodated large volumes of products to improve efficiency. • Process improvement: I utilized the “Plan for Every Part” process which I had developed during my previous internship with Lear. This process optimized the procedure for updating labels on production lines and the marketplace. • Solving Technical Problems: I assisted engineers in troubleshooting a challenge they were having with 3D printing by identifying the root cause of the problem they were encountering, which was stemming from moisture absorption in the filaments. This internship provided me with hands-on experience and further developed my analytical and problem-solving skills, preparing me for a career in engineering.

As an Engineering Intern at Lear C0orporation during the summer preceding my junior year in college, I developed a strong foundation in supply chain management and process improvement. I had the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to enhancing operational efficiency that directly affected production schedules and inventory management. Highlights include:• Transit Deck Monitoring: Monitored shipments and orders at the transit dock and ensured timely communication with vendors and shipment receivers regarding any delays. By being proactive, production schedules could be adjusted to minimize disruption.• Bi-weekly Meetings: Participated in bi-weekly meeting with the purpose of identifying strategies to boost efficiency across various departments. Discussions focused on enhancing shipment tracking systems, accelerating parts processing and boosting continuous improvement.• Inventory: I lead the parts counting team during Inventory Day and also oversaw daily inventory counts. • Initiative Design: “Plan for Every Part;” I developed a new initiative called a Plan for Every Part, designed to organize the parts scattered throughout the warehouse and production lines. This process reduced the time required to locate components and improved the accuracy of inventory. This internship equipped me with valuable insights and practical skills, and I look forward to applying these skills to contribute to efficiency and innovation in engineering.

Supervised lifeguards, ensured safety of patrons and assisted in maintaining the overall operation of the facility. Developed lifeguard schedules and monitored their surveillance and enforcement of rules. Responded to emergencies and adminisdetered CPR and first aid as needed. Addressed concerns and feedback from patrons regarding safety, facility conditions and staff performance while fostering a positive atmosphere to enhance patrons' experiences.
