With 40+ years of hospitality experience including food and beverage, vacation rentals and outdoor hospitality, I consider myself to be an industry professional. In food service I was a Training Manager for Taco Bell and Long John Silvers. I then advanced to multiunit management with LJS running 8 - 10 restaurants in a variety of markets from inner city to extreme rural. Leaving food service after 17+ years, I moved into the real estate market working for Surf or Sound Realty in the Outer Banks of NC. Working with Dale Petty I moved from Director of Maintenance to General Manger, acquired my Brokers License and became Vice President of Marketing and Sales and General Manager of Surf or Sound Realty. Our company grew from 250 properties to 455 properties in the 5+ years I worked with Dale Petty. Looking for a more family oriented positions, my wife and I purchased a campground in upstate NY and owned and operated West Canada Creek Campsites from 2004 - 2022. Doubling revenue in our 18 years and adding ancillary revenue streams like River Tubing, Soft Serve Ice Cream Stand, we were a family focused park that excelled over the years. While owning and operating WCCC I was very active on the Campground Owners of NY Board of Directors, serving as a Regional Director, Vice Chair and Chairperson. In addition, I worked for CONY as the Director of Membership for 4 years. In my spare time, I was the President of the Kuyahoora Valley Chamber of Commerce, Area Director for the Poland AYSO, Coach for the 7th & 8th grade school soccer teams, and father to two great boys that Sandy and I adopted. After selling our park, I went to work for Cove Communities in the Florida Keys. As a Community Manager I was responsible for all property operations. After 1 year I decided to move on as the Florida Keys were a challenging area to live and I chose to move back to our home in South Carolina.I then went to work for Spacious Skies Campgrounds as a Regional Manager. I began overseeing three parks in the Northeast. After 10 months, the company restructured and I am now Director of Southern Operations, overseeing all parks in the Southeast US.
