Hello, I am Michael Pelini. I am double majoring in Finance and Real Estate at the Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati. I am looking to go into a role dealing with either commercial real estate development, financial services, or both. Having had experiences in both fields, I feel that both industries suit me well and I have learned many skills to apply in my career. Outside of the classroom, I spend my time doing many things. I enjoy working out, reading, both playing and watching sports, and getting involved in intramural sports and clubs. I am a member of the University of Cincinnati Pickleball Club, University of Cincinnati Real Estate Association, and have been involved in intramural basketball and volleyball. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling to different places and trying new dining options. As for work experience, I have had the opportunity to co-op for two companies through the program at the university. My first position was in accounting with Independence Excavating Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio. There, I learned many things including Excel functions, taxes, payroll, and how to file union reports. My second position was in finance and real estate with Messer in Cincinnati, Ohio. There, I continued to learn new Excel functions, how to build proformas, how to do market research, how to update dashboards, and more functions in terms of real estate development and property management. Over the years, I have had multiple opportunities for volunteer work. Currently, I volunteer my time to work for a non-profit organization formed by my family and several friends after the tragic passing of my brother. The Mark Vincent Pelini foundation supports the future endeavors of high school students in the form of scholarships, and also donates to organizations that benefit the Youngstown, Ohio community.
