I load kilns, unload kilns, fire kilns, mix glazes, organize equipment, take inventory of raw materials, repair equipment, and oversee volunteers who assist with these tasks. I also do my best to assist patrons with any technical questions or issues they may have and attempt to foster an open and creative atmsophere with an occasional demonstration thrown in.
I oversee the ceramics program by providing the other instructors with technical advice, demonstrations and projects ideas that are appropriate for creative identity's particular clientele. I also work directly with the students providing hand over hand assistance to the blind and more severely impaired while providing those more able to work independently with the advice and encouragement necessary for them to realize their own creative vision. Loading unloading and firing of the kiln, maintaining/building equipment stocking glazes and managing product inventory also fall under my purview.
I teach wheel throwing, hand building and whatever else you want to learn about ceramics.
