I became interested in computers early in my teenage years. My father, having started out working in a factory as a general laborer, then machine operator and finally working into the IT department in it's early days was self taught but had a passion to learn more. I inherited his love of learning and his interest in technology. At the age of 13 I started building my own computers and quickly took to it. I then branched out into providing the service for friends and family, then people whom they would recommend and small businesses. I have continued this practice to this day.I have unfortunately never held a position professionally where IT was my sole responsibility. I started working shortly after High School and a never really found the time to go to College or get my certifications. I therefor applied my abilities at work where I was able. I took on the responsibility of handling off-hours IT issues while working at Polymer Group Incorporated. While I worked at General Mills Progresso I assisted colleagues with day to day PC and peripheral issues. While working for the NJ Department of Health I would assist with IT related problems whenever the department members were busy. I continuously tried to work my way in where I could but I was always held back but my lack of certifications. In the Summer of 2017 I finally decided to put an end to that and pursue the career I truly wanted, not just as an independent PC repair and "IT guy", but fully and earnestly by taking steps to get my A+, Network+ and Security+ certifications. I plan to have them all before the summer of 2018 and will be continuing on to acquire my Cisco certification shortly after.
