I am an experienced professional in the field of project management with over 20 years’ experience of successfully delivering major projects. I have provided advice and support to both the public and private sectors in the development of significant opportunities in regeneration, housing, health, education, and commercial sectors. Following a career built on working at a senior level for several multi-national companies, such as Turner & Townsend, Capita and Gleeds, I established Blue Kite Project Limited. The proposals consist of 200 high-end apartments for market sale alongside a new park. This has been a very complex project because of the existence of active main gas pipelines into the city which require relocation, an old gas holder on the site and concerns regarding the levels of ground contamination.Mixed Use Redevelopment, York (Jun 2019 – Jan 2020)This is a significant mixed-use development in the heart of York comprising of a new state of the art tourist attraction, several hundred apartments on the upper floors, café, and other commercial opportunities on the active ground floor. My role on this project has been to project manage the design and development of the full planning submission within a very short space of time. The proposed delivery plan and construction management proposals have been particularly complicated to develop as there is a two-year archaeological dig proposed on a substantial part of the site whilst trying to maintain active office premises on the remainder. New facilities offer the adaptability to integrate a diverse range of services, supporting community based delivery structures whilst achieving efficiencies across the public sector.Key Projects included: -Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council & GMCA (Sep 2016 – Nov 2017)Rolled out advisory services to several Greater Manchester Authorities, including Oldham MBC, to support the development of their OPE6 Bids. This entailed an initial assessment of the public sector estate and how this could be re-shaped to provide more effective and efficient service delivery, but at the same time releasing assets for new commercial and residential developments. One key project included establishing the opportunity to re-develop the Transport Interchange in Stockport to incorporate new office accommodation alongside extended retail provision, new facilities for Stockport College and town centre park.Integrated Place Project Director, Stockport Council (Feb 2016 – Nov 2017)Provision of advice to the Authority on the enhancement options of the Borough’s educational estate to meet future growth; provision of new build community hubs to integrate health and frontline services; and creation of new Centres of Excellence for sports and leisure. Hull Extra Care, Hull City Council (Jun 2013 – Jan 2015)Programme Director for the design and procurement of over 300 extra care apartments and associated community facilities split over three sites in Hull. Secured over £75 million from the Department of Health and took the project through the dialogue process to Contract Award. Directly responsible for all legal and commercial negotiations and driving forward the design process aligned to the parameters of the Output Specification and build cost model. Established the evaluation and assessment frameworks for the Bidder solutions and had responsibility for the management of a core project team and range of external specialist advisors.West Yorkshire Police, Accommodation Project (Jan 2012 – Jun 2012)Working bidder side, responsible for developing and co-ordinating the mobilisation solutions for the Refined Solutions stage of the procurement of two new police headquarters and a new training facility in West Yorkshire. Responsible for assessing client requirements and translating that into facility management solutions which encompassed the stages of closedown, transportation, and mobilisation at new facilities.
