Unlike when working for an employer, there are fewer resources to draw on when growing your own business. So it became my obsession to learn the "online way" of starting and scaling a business. I love the challenge of growing with fewer resources and utilising the tech that is out there. So my background is this... after being in corporate for many years, I did the old 180 and jumped into startup land. This was in 2016 when I co-founded RubyLee.co with Ruby Lee (my wife). Initially starting as career coaches, over time we found we were getting more enquiries about how we started our business rather than being asked for career advice. So in 2018 we pivoted and began helping people start and scale their online business as we had. A core method we teach our clients is to utilise their personal brands to attract their aligned clients. I always thought you had to work hard to convert a sale but I have since learnt that through authentic personal branding, you can attract your aligned clients who will be ready to sign up to your offers. The hard sell is not required as you have done all the selling by showing up as your unapologetic self. We refer to this as "Own Your Huste".We are loving the journey! The beauty of having an online business is that you can operate from anywhere as long as you have wifi. So when we are not avoiding pandemics, we take the opportunity to be digital nomads and travel the world with our kids.
