About Michael Possmayer

As a mid-career international development professional with over 20 years of international programme management experience, I enjoy roles where I can make use of my experience and add considerable value within an exceptional organisation with a strong mission and a positive work culture. Over a period of 13 years from 1998-2011, I have held international roles, including long stints in West Africa and West Asia. During this time, I held a series of positions of increasing management responsibility, culminating in roles as Country Director (Kosovo) and Regional Deputy Director (South Caucasus). My overseas experience has given me strong insights of the context and challenges faced by Country Programme teams, enabling me to better support them.Following my time overseas, I have worked in the London offices of The IRC and MSI Reproductive Choices for business development, donor engagement, partnerships, compliance systems, risk management, and commercial/business processes. I have collaborated with a wide variety of institutional donors, and I have developed a particular specialism in DFID/FCDO contracting and in the development & management of Payment By Results mechanisms.
