I am a seasoned healthcare professional with 27+ years of patient-centered care and nursing experience in various settings. Recognized for demonstrating a natural aptitude for promoting patient care, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging strategic changes for process optimization focused on patient-centered care, I have a history of contributing to organization success throughout my career. Professional focal points include working in varied nursing roles, HIV treatment and care, healthcare solutions, cross-functional team leadership, student development, educational instruction, lesson planning, process optimization and improvement, clinical supervision and leadership, evidence-based practice, performance assessment, policy development and implementation, clinical patient management, and operations management. Delivering superior administration on the latter areas of expertise requires the utilization of effective communication skills, people skills, as well as professional acumen, care management, and resource management to support efficiency and maximum care delivery. I received my Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree in an Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program, with a specialization in HIV medicine at Duke University. I am currently certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and am credentialed by the American Academy of HIV Medicine as an HIV Specialist. I am currently involved in course development and mentoring those with an interest in HIV care through the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Additionally, I precept nurse practitioner students. I am also involved in clinical research studies as a sub-investigator.I have a strong passion for helping patients maximize their best health and have an affinity for men’s health, LGBTQ healthcare, Transgender, STIs, and HIV disease. Colleagues describe me as a progressive, driven, collaborative, down-to-earth, patient care advocate, and HIV expert who can be relied on to offer superior solutions that deliver efficient, effective, and outstanding patient outcomes.Outside of work, I continue to acclimate to Orlando, FL, and its warm weather. I enjoy frequent travel, the beach (lake), hiking, biking, reading, gaming, and his dogs.
