Profile bio

About Michael Baber

I have served for 27 years thus far. I have worked in nearly every leadership position within the Geospatial Section of a Light Infantry Division for 15 years before being assigned to the school house at Fort Leonard Wood. I was the Course Chief for the 12Y AIT for three years. I led up to 22 instructors and performed instructor and leadership roles. I was an instructor for Basic and Advanced levels of 125D Geospatial Engineer Technician Warrant Officer Courses. I then became an Observer Coach / Trainer responsible for helping GEOINT Teams around the Army realize their full potential through doctrinal and insightful observation. Following my time as an OC/T I worked at USARCENT to build the USCENTCOM Theater Geospatial Database and set extraction priorities for data creation across the CENTCOM AOR. We also produced MTM maps, reference maps, and were established as a GETS production site supporting forward deployed personnel with reach back support. I managed a project that produced country level maps for all 20 countries throughout the entire CENTCOM AOR. In my current role I am the Senior Geospatial DOTmLPF-Po Integrator at the TRADOC Proponent Office - Geospatial. I analyze DOTmLPF-Po actions affecting Army Wide geospatial activities to update DOMLPF-Po to fill capability gaps for Army Geospatial Engineers across all three Compos (Regular Army, National Guard, And US Army Reserves). I am in the process of retiring after 28 years as a Terrain analyst, topographic analyst, geospatial analyst, for the Army since 1997. I am one of the last remaining original 81Q terrain analysts on active duty. I wish to find remote work so I can focus on family while my wife works her active duty role. If anyone knows of any remote positions I can fulfill while raising my sons that would be ideal. Please reach out and I can provide my resume if requested. I have 15 years working in light infantry division GEOINT cells as well as 9 years training various aspects of TRADOC learning environments from AIT, WOBC & WOAC, and I was also an Observer coach trainer working with Army staffs at the Brigade and Division level. I have led and trained soldiers in all facets of geospatial operations from Brigade to Division on current and future ops , I have also worked at the ASCC level supporting combat operations. I bring old school methodology into the planning and execution phases of geospatial operations. This is critically important as we transition into Multi-Domain operations now and into the future. All changes to geospatial infrastructure cross my desk.
