About Michael Rausch

I am a Data Scientist at DefenseStorm. I graduated with a PhD in Computer Science from UIUC in December 2021. I am a member of the PERFORM research group, advised by William H. Sanders. I have published a number of peer-reviewed first-author papers on various aspects of computer security modeling, including one that won the Best Paper Award at QEST 2020. My primary research interests are using modeling, simulation, and machine learning to help architects to make rational design decisions and build more secure cyber systems.I was a recipient of the Mavis Fellowship in 2019, acted as a teaching assistant in two courses , mentored undergraduate students from underrepresented minorities in research projects, volunteered at the UIUC Hour of Code, and served as a Computer Science Graduate Student Ambassador.
