If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would be getting ready to graduate from Virginia Tech with a degree in Chemical Engineering, I would not have believed it. I started working for an electrical contracting company when I was 15. I really enjoyed the work and learned a lot over the years. I started taking classes towards my Journeyman's license at Tidewater Community College, when I found a new calling. I suddenly discovered a passion for education, and began my new journey as a student. Being a natural problem solver with strong analytical skills, I was lead to the engineering program. With my background in electrical work, I pursued Electrical Engineering. Then I took my first Chemistry class and I knew that I had found my true passion. After receiving my AS degree from TCC in Engineering, I transferred to Virginia Tech to complete my BS. I am currently a senior at Virginia Tech, who will be graduating in May 2015 with a BS in Chemical Engineering as well as a BA in Chemistry. I am truly grateful for the amazing opportunities that I have been given along the way, and look forward to applying all that I have learned to my career.
