I am an Electrical and Electronics Engineer that graduated with a Beng Cum Laude at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. I carried on further to complete my PhD, titled "Optimal Usage-Based Control of Residential Water Heaters", two years later, and also published 4 research papers from it.I stayed as a postdoctoral researcher at Stellenbosch University for 6 more months and wrote 3 more research papers (1 published, 2 currently being reviewed), as well as developing an online circuit analysis website for the university that allows lecturers to automatically assess and mark the virtual circuits built by students in efforts to shift course work to remote learning. I recently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences in Austria where I expanded my research in the optimisation of thermal energy systems to electric vehicle charging.
