Responsible for defining and shaping a newly created department to define and set the Quality Standards for new vehicles to achieve a harmonious aesthetic appearance. Benchmark competitor vehicles, procedures and processes, delivering a database to influence vehicle design. Set warranty targets and reduce warranty spend year on year by identifying issues and driving resolution. Create and manage inspection standards and evaluation instructions. Define innovative tools and systems for measurement of quality. Conduct virtual craftsmanship audits to identify problems early in the development phase. Achievements include using benchmark data to increase paint shop efficiency, reduce paint warranty spend and increase dealer and customer satisfaction.

Responsible for the delivery of part and vehicle quality from conception through to vehicle launch for Large Vehicle Platforms. Define, direct and plan the workload for a department of 50 Quality Engineers in order to fulfill Quality deliverables and ensure a successful vehicle launch. Determine and implement new procedures, processes and KPIs for Engineers and Project Leaders to ensure continued improvement in delivery from a Quality perspective. Design and delivery of vehicle Master Fixtures. As the voice of the customer, challenge other departments’ deliverables to ensure quality is never compromised in order to surprise and delight the customer. Coach and mentor the wider Quality team. Responsible for 1:1s, appraisals, resource planning and candidate selection.

Manage introduction of new models from a Quality aspect from concept through to launch. Develop and report on project KPIs in line with NMO guidelines and Product Creation Gateway deliverables. Manage vehicle programme Overall Preparation Plans to drive NMO Engineering deliverables. Work cross-functionally to drive technical problem resolution and assist with all roadblocks. Define Quality targets within product definition and drive delivery and plans for resolution. Lead benchmarking activities within NMO to aid standard creation. Development and implementation of continuous improvement procedures and processes such as Lessons Learned and Aston Martin Problem Solving Plus α. Manage Master Fixture design and implementation within budget and programme timing.

Commodity responsibility for Dynamic Sealing System, Interior and Exterior Lighting. Led a team of Quality Engineers to ensure the delivery of both part and vehicle quality for Powertrain and Body Mechanisms to the appropriate standard for the launch of new Aston Martin vehicles. First point of escalation for chronic and complex problems. Responsible for weekly 1:1s, team development, workload prioritisation and metric reporting. Led the development and implementation of AML Quality Principles internally and with suppliers. Developed new process for Vehicle Inspection Standards (VIS), New Employee Induction, AMPAP (PPAP) rewrite and training, Capacity Analysis and Run at Rate process and reporting.

Managed the delivery of off-tool, off-process and final part approval for electrical, powertrain, chassis and body mechanism components. Analysed customer complaints, warranty data and quality history to contribute to the design of new components. Developed Vehicle Inspection Standards with aim of surprising and delighting the customer. Supported vehicle builds with problem resolution and containment actions. Evaluated pre-production AML vehicles from a customer point of view, raised problems and tracked resolution. Contributed to cross-functional supplier selection by carrying out Manufacturing Site Assessment audits. Worked with suppliers to ensure correct procedures and processes are in place for producing parts to the required quantity and quality level.
