Whatismyhealth began as an independent research study called, "What is Health: The American Perception of Overall Health" in December, 2013. After nearly 3 years of research, I officially formed WIMH, LLC (DBA Whatismyhealth) in November, 2016. The core belief of Whatismyhealth is that in order to help others to improve their health, it is essential to understand how they perceive and view health. By determining what people do and don't understand about health, our goal is to bridge the gap between unfamiliarity and the ability to take action to address and improve areas essential to their own health.Whatismyhealth is devoted to changing the way we see health by challenging its readers to build upon and expand their current views about health. Currently, Whatismyhealth functions as a website (www.whatismyhealth.com) of which I am the Founder, Principal Writer and Editor. Each week, whatismyhealth.com publishes articles written by our 6 featured writers who share health information, as well as personal experience in order to make health more relatable to the general public. In doing so, we believe we can begin to help people realize what is most important to our health and to gain knowledge and access to resources that will help form new, healthy behaviors conducive to building a healthier life.

I began developing statistical metrics and formulas in September, 2006 as part of an Honors-level course called "Statistics in Baseball" at Hofstra University. During this course, I authored a report entitled “Tendencies of the traditional ‘Power Hitter’,” which analyzed statistical trends in batting performance of Major League Baseball players. Beyond this course, I continued to develop statistical metrics and formulas for the measurement of pitching performance, which I named the "Human Pitching Element."In 2012, I authored a report called “Human Pitching Element: An Objectification of Pitching Performance.” This report has since drawn interest from several Major League Baseball teams. I continue to explore opportunities for implementation of this formula by professional and collegiate organizations, as well as through online statistical platforms devoted to Sabremetrics.

During my two years as Adapted Physical Education Teacher at P352X in the Bronx, NY, I was responsible for teaching over 100 students diagnosed with special needs (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Emotional Disturbance). Our curriculum focused on developing basic listening skills, communication, and social interaction through physical activity and movement concepts.During my tenure at P352X, I developed and implemented several curriculum models including the “Healthy Decision Making” program, designed to teach students how emotions impact actions and how actions impact others. Additionally, I drafted a pilot program called “Making Healthy Food Choices,” conducted our "Movement in the Classroom" staff professional development workshop, and our "Fitness at Home" parent workshop. Through these workshops, I developed a rapport with the parents and families of our students, guiding them to resources and information to facilitate the transferred use of in-school curriculum in the home setting.

During the summer of 2014, I was tasked with drafting a new Academic Handbook for the Department of Exercise Science, Health Studies, Physical Education and Sport Management. The Handbook provided a comprehensive overview of department curriculum, including core coursework, prerequisite requirements, plan of study brochures, and contact information for faculty. My work with department Chairperson Dr. Emilia Zarco led to my invitation to collaborate on the "Getting Smart with Social Media" presentation for the SOPHE conference in 2015 (see below).

As Inclusion Teaching Aide in the Jericho UFSD, I provided one-to-one behavioral and academic support for a fourth-grade student diagnosed with severe behavior & learning disabilities (Aspberger's Syndrome). As the aide for this student, I was responsible for implementing the Behavioral Intervention Plan and IEP for this student, for which I was an integral part of our Special Education team. I collected data on a daily basis consistent with BIP and IEP guidelines, collaborating with classroom teachers, Special Education service personnel (speech, OT, PT, reading specialists), our School Psychologist, Director of Pupil Personnel Services, and building Principal. Through our efforts, we developed individualized lesson modifications and corresponded on a regular basis with various members of the student's family to provide progress updates, goals, and home-based assignments.

As Special Education Teaching Aide for the Wantagh UFSD, I provided one-to-one behavioral & academic support for a sixth-grade student with severe learning disabilities. As the aide for this student, I was responsible for implementing the Behavioral Intervention Plan and IEP for this student, for which I was an integral part of our Special Education team. I collected data on a daily basis consistent with BIP and IEP guidelines, collaborating with classroom teachers, Special Education service personnel (speech, OT, PT, reading specialists), our School Psychologist, Director of Pupil Personnel Services, and building Principal. Through our efforts, we developed individualized lesson modifications and corresponded on a regular basis with the student's family to provide progress updates, goals, and home-based assignments. My work with this student prompted a professional request for my application to, and hire by the Jericho UFSD for the following academic year.

I was responsible for over 1,000 students in over 30 schools across 7 districts during my four and one-half years as a Substitute Teacher. I demonstrated versatility in teaching all academic subjects K-12, including Physical Education, Special Education, and all other special areas. A regular substitute in the Levittown School District, I was designated in three consecutive years (2009-2011) as Assistant Activities Coordinator of annual Field Day events, spanning two different elementary schools.

As Project Statistics Analyst for ESPN, I was responsible for managing and analyzing live statistics feeds for college and professional sports events, both nationally and internationally. My duties included supervision and maintenance of live data for transmission to our global TV, internet and mobile outputs. In addition, I was tasked with serving as a media liaison to maintain regular correspondence with press outlets at event sites, in order to ensure that all incoming and outgoing data was accurate. Recognized for my attention to detail, I was assigned to contribute to the "Under the Radar Stats" team, for which I compiled unique statistical trends and anomalies for publication on our various media outlets.

I began as an Account Executive with Marketing Solutions where I was a door-to-door salesman, selling energy rates to household decision makers. Within two weeks, I met my sales targets and was promoted to Corporate Trainer where I began to manage a sales team and develop a client base. Additionally, I was tasked with interviewing and training prospective and new Account Executives, as well as presenting marketing principles and performing various office duties.

As Senior Counselor, I was responsible for up to 20 campers ages 7-10, and up to 5 Counselors in Training (CITs) annually each summer for four years. I extended my duties by volunteering to coach one of our boys basketball teams during a camp-wide tournament, and running various athletic activities throughout the camp. Additionally, I provided transportation to our campers and staff to and from ou camp site, field trip locations, and the homes of our campers and counselors.

I began in the Physical Education, Sports & Fitness department at the Boys and Girls Club, developing and implementing new Physical Education units to our after school programming. After two months I was promoted to Athletic Leagues Coordinator, taking over the responsibilities of creating the schedules for our recreational baseball and softball leagues.As Coordinator, I served as a public relations liaison to coaches, parents, and players, communicating information about games, fundraisers, and other Boys & Girls Club events. In addition to my duties as Athletic Leagues Coordinator, I coached one of our third- and fourth-grade girls softball team, while also remaining involved with my previous Physical Education teaching responsibilities. Further, I provided transportation to our club members to and from league games, as well as on a weekly basis to our swim program, jointly run in collaboration with the American Red Cross.

As a freelance mathematics tutor, I worked with middle and high school-aged students, developing individualized study materials and providing one-to-one instruction for geometry, algebra, statistics & trigonometry.

Upon graduation from Hofstra University, I was hired by World Gym to help develop new children’s fitness programs for children ages 4-8. As Assistant Programming Coordinator, I functioned as our public relations liaison to World Gym members by providing information about our programs and events. Additionally, I served as a Program Instructor, developing and teaching the curriculum for our children's fitness program "Monkey Business," as well as other special children's events.

Buidling upon my experience as a journalist for the Hofstra Chronicle, I began my own sports statistics blog after graduating from the university. As the sole editor, designer and writer for "The Bottom Line Sports Blog" I generated written content which included statistical analysis for Major League Baseball, the NFL, and NCAA Football, developed polls, and created promotional content through Facebook and Twitter.

As a journalist during my senior year at Hofstra University, I generated written content for our weekly publication, which included in-depth statistical analysis and coverage of the New York Mets and New York Jets.

As a Data Collection Recruiter for Quick Test/Heakin, I was responsible for recruiting and interviewing participants about a variety of products, movies, and advertisements corresponding to each. I was promoted to Market Research Supervisor during my second year, responsible for managing our weekend staff and delegating our recruiters to collect data for various market research studies. As Supervisor, I served as our liaison to our corporate branches nation-wide, corresponding with upper management with regards to quotas and deadlines for our market resarch assignments.
