Shift lab analyst working on routine samples and project setups (particle size analyzer, and XRF).

Purification Plant• Operations ICP- Operation and Maintenance of Varian Liberty ICP. Established calibration curves, updated curves and troubleshooting instrument. Maintained standards and developed analytical procedures for Operations.• Copper/Arsenic Leaching- Pilot test work entailed leaching copper residue which contains arsenic. The leached arsenic was precipitated into a stable form for storage. Nickel was recovered as soluble liquor and sent to the purification circuit. Copper was recovered to be reprocessed in as a marketable copper feed stock. • Nickel Carbonate Optimization- Optimization of nickel carbonate production. Analysis of cake density, thickness and feed percent solids were determined. • Emissions- Annual preliminary survey and full stack testing was completed on all stacks.• Monitor effluent losses- Effluent losses form Refinery to Tailings Basin was monitored to ensure compliance according to operating protocol. Also was a Tailings Basin Committee member representing the Refinery• Cobalt Circuit- Worked on lab and plant scale projects to optimize cobalt oxidation and cobalt hydrate to increase production to greater then 500,000 lbs.Electroplating Circuit• Reagent Preparation- Prepared reagents for tankhouse and purification plant including monitoring quality control of prepared reagents.• Electroplating- Troubleshooting of tankhouse and mandrel plant issues and various test work. Coordinated and implemented 17mm Rounds test work.
