Michael’s core bankruptcy experience includes representation of trustees, enterprises, small businesses, landlords, banks, and creditors’ committees in business and consumer matters under all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code. Michael also has extensive experience in contested matters and adversary proceedings before bankruptcy courts, including cases involving fraudulent transfers, preferences, discharge and dischargeability, and involuntary bankruptcy. His insolvency experience further includes representation of receivers and creditors in federal and state receivership proceedings and assignments for the benefit of creditors.In addition to his bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice, Michael is a seasoned commercial litigator with substantial experience representing clients on claims involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, insurance coverage, consumer financial services, secured transactions under UCC Article 9, and judgment collection, including garnishment and execution. He has also conducted appeals before State and Federal appellate courts, including the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Tenth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, and the Florida District Courts of Appeal.Michael is licensed in Colorado and Florida and routinely practices in both jurisdictions. Previously, Michael practiced with a prestigious regional firm in Miami, Florida and a large national firm in Denver, Colorado.
