Dr. Scott’s research has led to innovative instruction, resulting in 100% of students being consistently engaged. As a Superintendent, College Professor, charter school innovator, and teacher, Dr. Scott is an international speaker about creating classrooms that provide a safe learning environment for taking intellectual risks.He founded from scratch, Irvine International Academy (IIA) serving as its first Superintendent & Executive Director. He recruited and hired the principal, office staff, and 14 certificated teachers who spoke Mandarin, Russian, Farsi, and Korean. IIA was the top science school in Irvine, and a Dual Immersion Mandarin/English TK-6th, STEAM, and Music charter school. IIA outperformed Irvine USD in Science (85% to 64%) and Math (83% to 70%).Dr. Scott created the “One to One Classroom TM” method pairing students, during class, to teach one another providing students the best learning situation for full access to nonverbal cues, opportunity for discussion, questioning, and constant ability to provide feedback, support, and correction.
