Program Manager | Project Coordinator | Maintenance And Material Manager | Senior Enlisted Leader

Washington, Dc, Us

As the Maintenance Program Manager it was imperative to establish a new maintenance program, that included at a minimum the correct maintenance requirements and qualified technicians to safely and properly maintain 43 vessels and barges to support the waterfront operations of Pearl Harbor which supports the 16 submarines and 14 surface ships that operate in the area. The largest tasking of this position has been working with entities in two different time zones and ensuring that logistic supply lines are available to support the mission tasking without delay. The sucesss of this position was noted in two ways: 1. During a Port Operations Site inspection, the inspectors noted and commented that the current maintenance program at Commander Navy Region Hawaii was "the example to be followed" and "the most complete and rigorous program" within the Installation Command Enterprise. 2. Within the first year of performing the scheduled preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance tasks dropped by 16%, saving approximately $80K in additional repair costs, in the second year corrective maintenance costs continued to fall be a factor of 9%, for a total cost savings of approximately $135K over the two years. The third year numbers are still be tabulated, but are projected to around 10% drop from last year. The added benefit of the program is adequate accounting of corrective items that are completed via contract with local contractors, minimizing contract overages and keeping the equipment repair timelines.Success as identified by multiple levels in the maintenance community.

Program Manager | Maintenance And Material Management Coordinator

Washington, Dc, Us

Responsible for the continued operation of, and strict adherence to the U.S. Navy's Preventative and Corrective Maintenance programs, including 42 different work centers (clients) on an Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer (USS CHUNG-HOON, DDG-93). During the duration of this employment several tasks included two deployments, two training cycles and inspections of the maintenance program, multiple maintenance projects and a drydocking of the ship. Employment, training and supervising of approximately 600 personnel was required (people come and go in the military), success was achieved through multiple entire command and personnal awards, but most notably when we were awarded the Battle "E" (efficiency) award. This tour of duty was personally the most rewarding, but shows how adaptable to new opportunities I can be. Submarines and Surface ships are extremely different in operation and structure. Sucess was marked by consistent high promotion recommendations and marks on performance evaluations, the advancement and success of individuals under direct supervision.

Apr 2015 - Sep 2019

Junior Relations Project Manager | Public Affairs Representative | Community Relations Coordinator

Washington, Dc, Us

As the Assistant Community Relations PAO, I assisted non-profit entities with scheduling their events on base property, ultimately satisfying their goals and providing services to the community of sailors, marines, soldiers and airmen stationed on the Island of Oahu. I also provided after hour Pearl Harbor Tours, ROTC unit Tours and tours of US Naval vessels. Although the work was difficult and time consuming, it was the most rewarding job I have had to date.

Apr 2014 - Mar 2015

Program Coordinator | Marine Mechanic Supervisor | Machinery Division Lcpo

Washington, Dc, Us

Responsible for planning and conducting various maintenance tasks on two different platforms of Submarines in four vastly different geographical locations. These complex tasks were combined with the operational schedules of the submarines and the global impact of mission readiness. These effort combined to support all requested tasking, on-time, technically correct, with minimal rework while staying on schedule and utilizing the resources entrusted to us from the federal government. The best part of this time; developing a team that supported each other and watching the team members advance their own careers in a job they enjoyed. "Find a job you enjoy to do and you never work a day in your life" (unknown). This wasn't a job, it was a joy.
