Ten years concurrent service as a Naval Reserve Intelligence Officer (1635). Assignments included Soviet aircraft and tactics analysis at Naval Intelligence Command; and at the National Military Joint Intelligence Center (NMJIC), providing Indication and Warning (I&W) for the National Military Command Center (NMCC) and the Joint Chiefs. Duties were the engineering design, development, integration, test and evaluation of avionics architectures and systems for Navy and Marine Corps fighter, command and control, attack, combat assault, and anti-submarine warfare aircraft. After matriculating from the Engineer Scientist Development Program, served as the P-3 Orion Avionics Systems Project Engineer; the V-22 Osprey Avionics Systems Project Officer; and finally as the head of the Anti-Air Warfare/Airborne Early Warning Avionics (AAW/AEW) section.
