I focus my practice on patenting a wide range of the most complex computer-related technologies, from low-level chip designs, up to datacenters and cloud computing platforms, as well as anything relating to AI and machine learning. I also love utilizing my expertise to get startups' patent programs up and running, which includes educating key employees and leading efforts to build company value by proactively mining important products and features for patenting opportunities. An intense interest of mine is Section 101 on patent-eligible subject matter. I have read and summarized thousands of cases in this area, in addition to writing numerous articles and giving various lectures on this topic.I have also been recognized as an expert on ex parte patent appeals, and I spend lots of time picking the brains of PTAB judges as a member of the PTAB Bar Association committee on ex parte appeals.
