Whilst a seconded Clinical Support Manager I embodied the ethos of leading by example and promoted change through a “watch as I do” method, showing staff I worked with and was managing how to do things better. Never asking someone to do something I wouldn’t or expecting them to be able to do something I did not feel was individually achievable.I have a mixed transformational, coaching and pacesetting leadership style. I believe in progress and empowering people to achieve their goals whilst setting the pace. Then, being that leader by also doing what it is I am asking of them. I was in the CSM secondment post for over 18 months and in that time I was not lead by any member of the Senior Leadership Team, being the NQP CSM I worked across Northants county and as such did not have a direct line manager.I built a reputation of being approachable, honest and willing to go above and beyond to assist people to reach their goals and pass their NQP. I have been in the ambulance service for 7 years, 6 of these as a paramedic, I have had set backs I failed my FDsC Paramedic course first time round, but I passed it the second. I have been in secondment and then failed to secure further time in the post but I am still striving to achieve a post in a clinical setting where I can drive improvement, develop change and be part of a team of staff who all share a focus. My resilience has never been better, the year I have had since last being in a clinical support post has allowed me to grow personally, I recognise my strengths, I accept my weaknesses and look for ways to improve or deal with these, I look for opportunities and I am defend myself against threats.I have experience of being a Cardiac Arrest Leader, I have completed my Operational Commander course at NARU. I have experienced, not only leading staff in everyday business, but experience in leading teams at scenes with multiple casualties, critical incidents and jobs which can cause great anxiety. I have recently been given praise by Northants fire and rescue and The Helimed team for a well run, treated and handed over incidents involving them.
