Since joining the organisation in June 1991 I've experienced many significant changes in telephony, communication technology, and the B2B marketplace in general. Over my circa 30-years I've accumulated a vast array of knowledge and experience across all areas of the business from engineering and support, through sales and account management to finance and senior business leadership. The business was very much in its infancy back in 1991 but through hard work and dedication I've steered it through many challenges and tough economic times including recession. In more recent years an MBO in 2007 and a total share acquisition in 2013, to make Cobus the largest independent supplier of its type in the Yorkshire region, has seen significant growth across all areas of the business. The company has experienced year-on-year growth in GP while maintaining a healthy margin so the futures never looked more promising that's real testament to the dedication and commitment of the senior management team and their respective teams.

At Cobus we have always believed in giving something back to the local community and in 2009 the Cobus Foundation was formed to concentrate our combined efforts into one chosen charity each and every year. The Foundation helps to promote, develop and aid that charity’s growth, whilst ensuring that the partnership is beneficial by maximising the charities longevity by leaving a lasting legacy. The Cobus Foundation has provided in excess of £100,000 of support to local organisations that include Case Training Services, The Echoes Foundation, Child Dynamix, FiND, RSPCA Hull & East Riding, Hull Children's University, and PAUL For Brain Recovery as well as additional support to Hull Disability Sports and the Hull FC Wheelchair Rugby League Team.

After being a Governor for 4-years and gaining experience across all aspects of the School from curriculum to finance I was asked to be one of the three founding board members of the new Academy in July 2014.I will continue my role as a Community Governor while also helping to create and manage the higher levels of Governorship required in an Academy. One of my individual areas of responsibility is to support the School and designated Coordinator with SEN (Special Educational Needs) to ensure that the relevant Code of Practice is adhered to and that all pupils and parents are provided with the best possible support and resource available.
