Mike Snyder is currently Executive Vice President Network Solutions for Avalon Healthcare Solutions, LLC. AHS provides comprehensive benefit management services to the health plan industry, providing 7-12% in PMPM savings. Savings are guaranteed with no administrative fees and the company is compensated through the accomplishment of shared savings. Avalon's Network Solutions team engages with health plans and laboratory services providers to advise and offer management services with respect to the health plan's network of laboratory providers. (NOTE: Network Solutions is NOT involved in the management of IT services)Mike has 30 years of experience in the strategic development of clinical laboratories. Prior to joining AHS, he was the Principal for Clinical Lab Business Solutions, a consulting firm that engages with laboratories to deliver collaborative solutions to health plans and employer groups. He has also served as Vice President of Laboratory Networks for UnitedHealthcare (UHC). In that capacity, he directed the national strategy for laboratory services and participated in the development of UHC’s national provider network. Additionally, Mr. Snyder served as Director of Business Development for Mount Sinai Hospital’s Center for Clinical Laboratories, where he saw outreach revenues triple in the implementation of a business plan that focused efforts on billing solutions and demonstrated the value of the medical center’s laboratory to attending faculty. Finally, Mike also served as an executive with LabCorp (1980-2000), one of the largest commercial laboratories in the US. Mike is a frequent speaker on the subject of managed care contracting and the value of managed networks for laboratory services.
