Managed $250K program to replace analytical instruments. Performs wet and instrumental chemical analyses on raw materials, Crayola products, and competitive products in support of R&D programs and regulatory compliance. Developed time- and resource-saving instrumental analytical process for determining fatty acid concentration in art materials. Initiated and performed in-depth review of the chemistry behind iconic Silly Putty® product line in response to chemical regulatory restrictions on boric acid and other inorganic boron compounds in the EU. Developed novel dilatant silicone putty products utilizing a non-boron crosslinker to overcome EU regulatory restrictions and patented their method of manufacture. Co-inventor on 3 issued US patents and sole inventor on 1 issued US patent.
