The main role of the Fleet Controller is to ensure that the new Class 700 trains are fit for everyday service and control a team of 35 technicians. The role includes planning the fleet for scheduled maintenance and control reactive maintenance to ensure the casualty times are kept to a minimum. I liaise with GTR, Southern and Network Rail to ensure the Class 700 keeps its high standards and contractual requirements. Disposition and Allocation sheets are used to monitor maintenance, locations, diagrams, restrictions, defects and all future planning of the 700 fleet. Create fault report logs and organise staff and components to be available.Key tasks for a Fleet Controller include; first line response to drivers and OBM’s with unit faults, minimizing delay times, using TAFF’s & DOTE to ensure the correct procedures are adhered too, using programs such as Cormap, COM@RL, Smart Insights, Web Gemini, MRX, Genius, CCIL, Trust, P2 Maps, Equinox, Tyrell and Microsoft Office to maintain our contractual requirements with Govia Thameslink Rail (GTR).

• Responsible for Fleet delivery, ensuring the contractual agreed numbers of trains are made available for service and ensuring that they comply with operational specifications.• Responsible for creation and population of Disposition and Allocation sheets.• Providing technical advice and problem solving in real time to train drivers and on board managers via a hot desk, using the DOTEL system.• Monitoring TRUST & CECIL for defect information and compiling KICC support engineer logs.• Creating work reports, job cards and campaigns to send back to depot.• Allocating trains to services, whilst ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed.• Liaising with Duty Shift Manager’s, Team Leaders and Planning Manager’s in preparation for train

• Person In charge of Train (PICT) responsible for all staff including engineers, technicians, cleaners and contractors.• Training and assessing staff on tools, testing procedures and fault finding using pc based laptops.• Fault finding and providing technical support for out stations such as St Pancreas, Ramsgate and Faversham.• Improve reliability by carrying out modifications.• Managing the stores and spare parts required for maintenance. • Driver and Depot Protection duties.

• Responsible for the preventive maintenance for the new high speed class 395 bullet trains. • Fault finding and repairs to systems such as HVAC, Batteries (UPS), Power 750DC & 25kV AC, Air production, Lighting, signalling, and Electronic components. • Updating maintenance manuals to provide better services to the units.• General maintenance of generators, compressors including oil, filters, seals, gauging and lubrication.• Repairing mechanical and pneumatic devices such as doors, locks, nose cones and couplers.

• Inspection and testing of control panels, switchgear and package substations in data centres.• Fault finding of electrical components, ups, switchgear and lighting & power panels in data centres.Inspecting and testing of all electrical installation, metal work, creating snagging lists and reporting directly to Senior QA.• Controlling the preservation of all power and instrumentation cables, reporting directly to the senior Engineer.• Maintenance and testing of various motors.• Monitoring sensitive equipment and checking correct installation as per schedule.• Maintenance of air conditioning, air filters, fans & AHU’s.• Complete electrical installation of water treatment site including; flow meters, valve actuators, MCA, ICA and bore hole pumps.• Installation of 3 phase and single phase AC and DC motors.

• Responsible for the safe isolation and de-commissioning of power supply to porta-cabins, offices, kitchens, living quarters, toilets and shower rooms on a construction site in Northern Ireland. Power supplies included; 3 Phase 415v main cable, automatic back-up generator, Wilson mobile generator and U.P.S.• Responsible for several construction sites both UK and overseas. • Responsible for the installation of a concrete bridge in Cyprus and extensions to existing buildings including brickwork and roofing.• Designed and implemented power and lighting circuits to a newly built HV sub-station in Cyprus. I undertook further training in the awareness of high voltage equipment, fire safety and general health & safety to achieve skilled person and supervise the site of 15 workers, including three other electricians.• Designed power and lighting layout to offices, kitchens, canteens and restrooms using a 40KW mobile generator.
