I am a preprofessional biology major and graduate of the University of Florida (December 2021). I currently work as a medical researcher at AdventHealth under Dr. Sharona Ross in digestive health and surgery, in hopes that it will help to prepare me for a career in medicine. I am an aspiring physician, although I am still open to many of the plentiful options the field of medicine has to offer. I am involved in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and have raised funds in excess of $15,000 over the past 10 years through production of an annual fundraiser. These funds support research in the field of Juvenile Diabetes, otherwise known as Type 1 Diabetes. My work with JDRF has bettered my skills in measuring and managing funding, as well as giving me experience through production of the aforementioned annual fundraising events. Research is a common place for funding to be short, so I have participated in these fundraisers in hopes that funding will not be an issue for Type 1 Diabetes research. I am constantly looking for opportunities to better my knowledge and experience in and around the medical field, but I am also interested in finding any possible options for creating connections in peripheral fields, such as sports and business management.
