During this time, the group also purchased the signature restaurant ‘bel mondo’ in Sydney’s Rocks and ran it for over 10 years. *Consulting* Michael Lloyd himself consults to a variety of clients on shopping centre development and management throughout the Asia Pacific region. Consulting projects he worked on:- Power Plant Mall in Makati, Manila, Philippines- Dalian Peace Plaza, Dalian, China- Centropolitan Shopping Centre, Chengdu, China- Appointed as Senior Consultant/ Development Director, Naiknavare Developers, Puna, India, for the development of 3 shopping centres in Puna for the group- Contracted by Shinsegae, one of the largest retailers in South Korea operating department stores, Hypermarkets, for development of several major shopping centres with individual values ranging between $500 million and $1.5 billion.

Lendlease is an international property and infrastructure group with core expertise in shaping cities and creating strong and connected communities.Michael held various senior management positions in Lendlease Development, Investments and Retail departments, and was appointed National Leasing Manager, responsible for all negotiations and the management of relationships, at the most senior level, with all major retailers in Australia. At that time (1980s) Lend Lease had the largest retail portfolio in Australia – 27 major shopping centres. He dealt on a daily basis with Senior Executives and CEOs from the Coles Myer Group, Woolworths, David Jones as well as mini-major principals and CEOs of major specialty chain operators. Michael joined the Board of Directors with the portfolios of Leasing, Marketing, Retail Planning and Management, when Lendlease merged its shopping centre development arm with its shopping centre management arm to form a new entity, Lendlease Retail in 1986. From 1986 to 1995 he was involved at the most senior level in the development and management of some of the largest shopping centres in Australia.
