Michael joined J Browne Construction Limited as their Commercial Director (part of the Renew Group) in Sep 2022.Michael rejoined VolkerFitzpatrick in January 1998 progressing from Managing Surveyor to Commercial Manager. Michael is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors with experience of working for both client and contractor in a wide variety of civils projects including marine, highways, airports, structures, urban regeneration, utilities, hard and soft landscaping and public realm and has been responsible for a number of teams working for various clients.Prior to re-joining VolkerFitzpatrick he worked for a cost consultant and was lead cost and commercial manager on the successful £100m Terminal 5 Phase II Stage I project (Heathrow), where he headed the cost and commercial aspects of the project, working closely with BAA and the framework contractor. The project was delivered safely, under budget, to programme and the appropriate quality. Michael has managed the commercial functions of VFL Paving Division and has been involved in tendering and business development.Michael has worked on projects involving various forms of contract from ICE, JCT, NEC and bespoke forms. Michael is a strong team player and believes that team work is the key to a successful project.
