Principal of a small firm specialising in building and construction law, especially leaky buildings. I act for owners of leaky buildings, as well as defendants (former owners, builders, developers, architects and sub-contractors) in leaky building claims before the courts and the Weathertight Homes Tribunal. I also act for landlords in landlord/tenant issues, and general commercial disputes, and the construction industry in Constructions Contracts Act matters.

I was the litigation partner in a boutique 5 partner commercial law firm. My practice was varied and consisted mainly of servicing the litigation needs of clients of the four commercial partners. Areas of practice included company and commercial, employment, building and construction and insolvency.In May 2005, I left to set up my own practice, specialising in building and construction law.

At this leading NZ insurance law practice, I specialised in public liability and professional indemnity claims, as well as fire and general recovery actions.I gained valuable advocacy experience in the courts and in numerous mediations.I left in 2003 to become a partner at McMahon Butterworth.
