About Michael Tomadakis

The opportunities high school and university coursework have given me are priceless, but I believe it is what one does in their free time that defines them. I've spent mine amassing a variety of skills primarily related to game development and software engineering but branching out to shader programming for GPU acceleration, AI, procedural generation, and dev ops, and more recently, experimenting with Neural Radiance Fields and related techniques in vision. As AI sweeps the world, I expect it to transform the way we share recorded content, namely through the proliferation of 3D video and photo content. I'm excited to contribute to this advancement through research.

DevLUp is a nonprofit I founded to elevate and rebrand the former UF Game Developer's Association in our mission to bring videogame development to high schools across the US. I've helped grow this student organization over 6-fold during my tenure with a digital per-capita engagement empirically over 3x higher than the average larger student organization at my university.I especially...- Oversee the general vision- Plan and manage events- Help develop a Node.Js discord bot and Next.js frontend / backend (WIP) hosted on AWSbut am generally involved in all facets of our emerging organization.I am especially proud of the expansion to FSU, as well as FAU and FIT. I hope to lay the foundation for a network of student-lead education initiatives at high schools and universities in Florida and beyond.

Berni & Murcer had been stalling to develop a game for over a year now. After reaching out to them, I agreed to run an event in which my organization, DevLUp, allocated over 30 of our members over a 72 hour period to produce an almost final project and bring B&M's idea to life. This involved a handful of meetings and weeks of preplanning and preparation, in which I applied my technical expertise in realtime content creation to give our members a usable workflow, wrote numerous bite-sized guides for needed assets and ultimately assembled some of their assets in-engine. I also created content myself where needed.
