Further to my role as Project Engineer, I am now acting onshore in a Lead Engineer capacity, managing day-to-day Reef Subsea engineering on the Gwynt-Y-Môr OWF project, prioritising and designating tasks and resolving installation issues.I work closely with the client at the mobilisation base and still undertake the offshore Field Engineering role on a rota basis.

Responsible for the engineering of subsea cable lay, burial and survey activities including pull-in methodology and equipment design, with emphasis on continued refinement and improved efficiency of cable installation. I generate project documentation and procedures, working closely with clients and subcontractors on a regular basis.I work offshore on rotation as the project Field Engineer, managing cable package information, support to the offshore management team and producing the client required documentation deliverables.

Responsibilities include carrying out of all engineering activities on caisson cleaning, camera survey, repair and pile swaging projects from planning to mobilisation stage then delivery of the project offshore. Activities include detailed design and supporting calculations, preparation, issue and control of project documentation, supervision of equipment testing, QA/QC activities, coordinating and interfacing with the client. Offshore I perform the role of supervisor coordinating and performing the work as well as liaising with the client representative.I have routinely completed high pressure cleaning, camera survey and caisson repair projects on many different platforms throughout the UK and Dutch sectors of the North Sea and subsea template pile swaging from the S7000 construction barge on the Clair Ridge field. Overcoming complications offshore is frequently required and something I readily enjoy.Onshore I have recently designed and developed a new, modular swaged profile inspection system that has increased accuracy and reliability over its predecessor. It will be adopted across the tool range as the standard inspection system.

During my employment I aided in delivering a highly successful level 1 site emergency exercise witnessed by the Nuclear Installation Inspectorate, developed a versatile training rig for emergency equipment and was a member of the on-call emergency response team.As part of my role I trained personnel in the use of specialist emergency equipment and completed numerous training courses including Emergency Response and Planning, Human Performance Tools, Breathing Air and Chemical Protection Suit use.
