This is a senior sector leadership role, with ownership over planning, investment/business case development, procurement and delivery of critical infrastructure platforms underpinning New Zealand research priorities. Through strategic planning, policy, priority setting, and functional management of the Platforms team, take responsibility for delivering fit-for-purpose platform services (compute, storage, system-software, research software applications and user management) to service levels consistent with NeSI’s Access, Allocation, and Pricing Policies.The Platforms Manager is part of NeSI’s Leadership Team, and in the context of a national infrastructure and service provider, is expected to provide strong leadership that emphasises a culture of delivery, professionalism and customer focus. Assume operational accountability for a new national team supporting all platforms and facilities across all five collaborators within NeSI along with any externally integrated services, with a key goal being establishment of consistency of national capabilities for procurement, operations, and service delivery.
