I am Michael Vesely, a highly motivated, upcoming graduate. This is to show keen interest and demonstrate ability for the position of physician assistant/associate, mid-level provider, or advanced practice provider. I am seeking to be an asset to a team or practice in the orthopedics, general surgery, emergency medicine or OB/GYN fields. I received my Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2013. I will earn my Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Wingate University in December of 2021. During my studies at Wingate, I completed clinical rotations with four major hospital systems including HCA/Mission Health, UNC Health/Pardee, Harris/Duke Lifepoint, and Novant/New Hanover Regional Medical Center. I have experience using both Cerner and Epic EMR systems. My clinical rotations included emergency medicine, general surgery, orthopedic spine/neurosurgery, ortho-trauma, OB/Gyn, pediatrics, family medicine, psychiatry, and internal medicine. During my surgical rotations I had the opportunity to first assist and suture on a variety of surgeries including laparoscopic, joint replacement and revision, and cesarean section. During each rotation, I became comfortable taking patient histories, performing physical exams and assessments, and interpreting imaging studies. Prior to PA school, I spent 5 years as a senior firefighter/EMT with the Asheville Fire Department and gained experience working with a team in a high stress environment. This experience, along with my clinicals, further reinforced my values of teamwork, communication, and compassion for helping others, and I will continue to uphold these values to provide excellent service to your practice and our patients.
