The Manager of Engineering (MOE) is in charge of the engineering resources within our Indianapolis office. The MOE is the direct supervisor of the technical discipline division managers and is responsible for the technical resources and the tools, systems and work processes used by the technical staff to execute their work. The MOE maintains a highly collaborative relationship with the leadership team in our Cincinnati office and other Line of Business offices as appropriate. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:• Participate in business planning activities for Indianapolis office• Develop and approve the proposed project budgets for engineering proposals• Ensure Safety in design and field activities• Ensure Quality in design and field activities, squad checking and chief reviews are the MOE’s responsibility• Develop, approve and audit for the use of Engineering and Technical Work Instructions• Monitor the quality of the engineering and technical execution of projects, ensuring good engineering practices are followed• Ensure technical resources are available to the office and site locations• Partner with HR in recruitment and employee relations matters for technical personnel• Provide for training and education of technical staff• Coordinate with division managers and project management for Staffing /de-staffing of technical personnel on projects • Ensure adequate staffing is available to meet the requirements• Prioritize the technical work including coordinating with the sites in determining the most efficient location to execute the work• Manage & monitor the engineering and design man-hours, progress and productivity, including working with project controls on maintaining a progress measurement system• Ensure change control is effectively managed in accordance with the procedures during design development• Mentor and ensure specific disciplines forecasting, progress reporting and cost management are maintained

The Facility Services Group was responsible for a 23 building, 12.5 acre campus for the manufacture of the anthrax vaccine Biothrax. The maintenance departments included: general maintenance, powerhouse operations, metrology, production support, and facility resource planning. This maintenance organization won the prestigious Foundation for Industrial Maintenance Excellence North American Maintenance Excellence Award. OPEX - $10MM – $12MM annual expenditure Reduced sublot failure rate attributable to facilities and equipment from 1.3% to 0.8% to 0.6% in two successive years. Supervisor of Plant Engineering and Equipment Engineering. Responsible for a three million square foot series of buildings on a 400 acre campus. Provided technical support and purchase specifications for new machine tools and processes. Supervised six engineers and one designer. Wrote the Plant Engineering work instructions for ISO 9001 Certification.

Worked in Plant Engineering Department. HVAC design included: AHU and acid fume scrubber for new plater area, 30 ton AC increase for mold operation, and combination of three centrifugal air-cooled chillers with one centrifugal chiller, and one new 200 ton rotary screw chiller. Piping design included: two automatic chemical feed systems for two platers, liquid nitrogen distribution piping, support utility piping for new plater addition, and high purity gas piping for laser scribe machines.

Responsible for HVAC and fire protection design. Supervised two engineers, two designers, and two CAD operators. Designed eight tank farm HV systems and fire protection systems. Assisted and in the design and check of two clean room/sterile lab facilities for pharmaceutical client. Designed various HVAC systems for NASA Space Station Processing Facility. Familarized with various Carrier and Trane software programs for ductwork sizing, heating/cooling load calculations, and equipment selection.

Focused on the design of HVAC and piping systems in an industrial environment. Research and development facility; therefore, special parameters and specifications to accommodate new machinery and processes. Required to estimate labor and material costs of projects along with technical supervision during construction.

Participated in the Engineer-in-Training program for the design of hospitals and health care facilities. Assignments included the drafting and design of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems. Familiarized with computer software for energy analysis and ductwork calculations.
