In my role as a Veteran Support Specialist, I provide dedicated assistance to veterans who are experiencing challenges in securing stable housing. My focus is on delivering comprehensive support services that help veterans overcome barriers to housing stability, such as financial hardship, mental health concerns, and lack of access to resources.By working closely with veterans, I help them navigate housing programs, connect with community resources, and secure long-term housing solutions. I collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, and housing providers to advocate for and ensure access to essential services, including temporary shelter, affordable housing, and other supportive services.My responsibilities also include conducting needs assessments, developing personalized housing plans, and providing ongoing case management to track progress and adjust strategies as needed. With an emphasis on empathy, respect, and advocacy, I strive to empower veterans, helping them regain stability and independence through secure housing. My role allows me to make a tangible impact by offering direct, person-centered support that honors the service and sacrifices of our veterans.

My Americorps VISTA Term is being served at this non-profit organization in Arizona. The Casa Grande Alliance provides trauma-responsive prevention education programming and services, youth coalition leadership, and treatment and recovery resource navigation. Our community coalition is a network of organizations dedicated to building individual, family, and community resiliency.

A wonderful part time opportunity that enhanced my ability to work in team settings, while enabling me the free time necessary to complete my Masters program.
