Understanding complex situations and breaking them down into bite sized pieces is a part of who I am. While I have always excelled at just understanding complex situations, I have since been given the tools and know-how to truly help reduce complexity in the long term. I face each hurdle with thoughts of “How can this be improved upon?” Complexity reduction, continuous improvement, and cost savings work hand in hand as good systems will reward those who take the time to initiate them.I was originally brought into the Whirlpool Corporation as a contractor. I was asked, along with my coworkers, to help develop a new system for managing literature. This was something originally put forward by my leader, but was expanded upon in my year long contract. I was skilled enough, or at least lucky enough, to be asked to join the official team. From there, we worked to help save millions of dollars for the company over my relatively short tenure. We utilized the whole team and various ideas, even allowing our team’s customers to give us direct feedback, so we could see how others saw us and what needed to be done. The literature team was one of the top teams for continuous improvement and cost savings. Our work was so effective, that I began using these concepts in my day to day as well.My deepest passion is board games, and with that, Dungeons & Dragons. I lead my games the best I can, but when I consistently got stuck trying to create characters and worlds, I turned to my experience with Whirlpool. From there, I developed Waldo’s Guide, a group of randomly generating spreadsheets to make my life easier. Once others saw it, I started making more versions, and now my spreadsheets have been used by hundreds of thousands of people. Here is a list of my continuous improvement and complexity reduction highlights:• Helping to save over $750k each year• Reducing 500+ work hours with updated procedures initiated yearly• Having a nearly 100% accuracy in data analysis• Obsoleting more than 250k parts and processes that were no longer in use

OwnerWaldo'S Guide 2020 - Present● Developed Complex Spreadsheets that produce randomly generated information● Created Digital Content for Social Media Sites● Manage Accounting Information regarding payments and plansWaldo's Guide is a group of random generating spreadsheets that help Dungeon Master's and Role Playing Players. I developed these spreadsheets after noticing myself struggling as a Dungeon Master to keep up with my players and their questions about my worlds. I improvised as much as I could, but when I had the idea to have random generators help me, I found the ones that already existed lacking in ways that I didn't love.I had very little experience with spreadsheets when I started Waldo's Guide, but I reached out to others, taught myself, and learned all that I could within these spreadsheets to create something that would help me. Only after posting my first spreadsheet online, did I realize there was a need for something like this. Thousands of people responded asking for access and more content, so I created more. What started off as a simple idea suddenly exploded into the website and spreadsheets I have now.Overtime, I began to offer my services as a personal Dungeon Master for players that wanted to play short games with their friends and family, I even lead a club at my local library.I find joy in creating spreadsheets, solving complex problems, and helping those in my community find easier ways to play the game that we all appreciate and love.

Technical Publications AssociateWhirlpool Corporation 2019 - 2024● Managed Literature Projects & Process● Identified & Executed Cost Saving Initiatives● Developed Continuous Improvement Projects totaling approximately $3.5 millionMy experience with my Technical Publications position has probably been my most valuable experience yet. I truly enjoyed my work and being a part of my team. I helped lead continuous improvement within my team which entailed reduction in costs, time saving initiatives, and general process improvement.I was mainly responsible for managing many types of documents including owner’s manuals, material specifications, quick start guides, warranties, component specifications, control guides, feature guides, SOPs, training presentations, label location specifications. I also created various trackers through excel that ensured our team was operating efficiently. Beyond that, my duties also included leading a portion of the team that assisted with the process we had. I would often meet with them to offer help or train them on new processes and updates. I was reviewed positively by this team whenever reviews came out for the year even though I was not directly managing these individuals. My favorite part about this job was finding solutions to complex problems. I enjoyed reaching out to team members that I either worked with directly or through projects, and discovering their thoughts about old and new processes alike to understand what needed to be improved upon. A bad system will beat a good team every time. -
