I oversee and manage all football and sport development (FSD) activities within CACT. The role consists of managing a team of 3 senior development officers and 4 football development officers, who oversee a delivery team of 12 full time coaches and apprentices. The programme currently delivers 400 hours of sport and football sessions within the communities of Greenwich, Bexley and areas of Kent.My role consists of strategic planning the best way forward for the team to enhance the community’s experience with football and multi sports. All programmes range from participants aged 2 to 21 years old and for participants from an elite environment to a recreational setting.

As senior football development officer, I was key in developing the football development programme “Play the West Ham Way” which supported and encouraged new players to the game as well as enhancing current players abilities.I managed a team of 4 full time football coaches, 3 apprentices as well as a team of 23 casual coaches, this was the first time I had line management duties and learnt quickly how to communicate effectively, how important regular meetings were to keep staff on track and how important it was to quality assure all delivery on a regular basis to improve staff and our provision.

New Zealand

I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing living and working in football in New Zealand for just over 2 and half years.My role with WaiBOP Football (equivalent to a county FA in UK) was to oversee a football-based programme in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand delivering several football activities, including a talent pathway programme leading to New Zealand national talent programme.

Basingstoke

To further develop my skills in sports development I moved to Hampshire and worked for the county FA, delivering on several programmes including coach education, management of county rep teams and working with charter standard clubs.During my time at Hampshire FA, I secured on a part time basis the Director role at the Girls Centre of Excellence (part of the FA female elite pathway).
