This position involves working on a wide variety of projects ranging in size and scale that covers the whole spectrum of planning, including:- Project Management and Coordination from project inception through to completion;- Preparation of Planning reports (SEEs, S96s, REFs, Clause 4.6s, etc);- Preparation of Planning Proposals;- Preparation of DCP amendments;- Due Diligence and Strategic Planning Advice;- Preparation of CPTED (Safety by Design) reports;- Independent assessment for Council applications;- Submissions to DAs;- Court representation;- Representations to consent authorities (JRPP, DRP, NSIPP, Council, etc); and- Assisting the development of junior team members.Some recent projects that I have managed include:- Re-development of Uniting's Seniors Housing site at Westmead (Mayflower), including 230 ILU's, 114 bed RACF and a child care centre (Parramatta);- 105 bed Residential Flat Building on President's Avenue, Kirrawee (Sutherland Shire Council);- Seven (7) storey mixed use building comprising retail premises and residential units within the Gladesville Town Centre (City of Ryde);- Mixed use development within the Crows Nest Town Centre that includes 66 residential units and a full line Coles Supermarket (North Sydney);- Due Diligence advice for several sites that are located along the Sydney Metro line;- A new 72 bed RACF for Uniting at their Wontama development (Orange NSW);- Large scale refurbishment of the luxury Burberry retail store at Martin Place (Sydney);- Assistance with the preparation of a Planning Proposal with associated VPA to deliver 300+ dwellings, commercial floor space, and significant public domain improvements in the Rockdale Town Centre (project ongoing); and- Residential Flat Building that relied upon 'Existing Use Rights' on Bulga Road (North Bondi)- Two (2) separate Planning Proposals in Leichhardt, to increase the supply of seniors housing

I was employed as the Town Planner at Cabonne Council during this period. My primary function was to assess and provide recommendations for Development Applications for Council; as well as provide advice to customers, clients, consultants and state departments. Also, in this time I assisted Council''s Strategic Town Planner in a variety of projects that contributed to the implementation of a new Standard Instrument Local Environmental Plan.This position gave me a good understanding of the role of a Council for development assessment, as well as how Council functions as a whole.

During my university holidays I was employed by Cabonne Council as the 'Assistant Town Planner'. In this role I assisted the Senior Town Planner in gathering information to formulate recommendations for Development Applications submitted to Council for assessment. This position paved my way to understanding the concepts learnt at university, and putting them into working practice.
