Michael Webber graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Biotechnology and First Class Honours. As a research student he investigated Cryptosporidium assay development for risk assessment under Water Research Australia scholarships. For this work Michael was published in Zoonoses and Public Health, won a Flinders University Medal and his application for the AWA Hodgson Medal was commended.In 2013 Michael won a position on the SA Water graduate program first working on the customer perception project collaborating with GWMWater, with his work awarded best paper at OzWater’14.After this Michael gained experience in operations at Allwater JV before winning a role as Technical Support Officer for Water Treatment and Networks at SA Water. Here Michael manages water quality data and monitoring programs, incident response, management and investigation, interagency reporting, quality systems management and troubleshooting and optimisation of drinking water treatment plants and distribution networks.During this time Michael has been active with the Australian Water Association Young Water Professionals and currently chairs the national YWP Specialist Network Committee.Outside of work Michael’s spare time is spent running a sports team, this year finishing 3rd in Australia, and runs a small chocolate business as time allows.
