Overall accountability for the strategic delivery of a large portfolio of projects across a complex scientific and defence estate. Ensuring the portfolio is delivered with the correct financial and commercial operational mechanisms whilst maintaining a high level of health and safety and works delivery standards.

As part of the Senior Management Team, my role finds me accountable for the support functions which enable the operational teams to run efficiently. These outputs include; Asset Management, Quality, Compliance, Technical Assurance, Health & Safety, Sustainability, Performance Reporting & Trend Analysis, Improvements, Strategy, Innovation, Customer Feedback & Engagement.

New Works Manager responsible for the departments delivering all minor new works and projects across a number of defence sites. Oversight of the projects and minor new works teams across a portfolio of 3 highly regulated sites. Accountability for all financial, commercial, quality and safety aspects of any new works delivered across this portfolio. Key roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to;- Restructuring teams and departments to suit operational requirements. - Managing all project resource across all sites.- Working with procurement and creating strategic supply chains for the most costs effective delivery of projects.- Setting up and chairing internal, external and client meetings.- Responsible for 12 month financial forecasting and reporting on all project budgets.- Creating detailed Scopes and SOR’s based on client and end user requirements.- Ensuring that all project teams meet agreed target deadlines or providing substantial mitigations to ensure contractual KPI’s are met.- Working with the client to ensure that all projects are delivered in accordance with contract framework.

— Contract Mobilisation projects— Asset Management projects— Construction projects— Design, costing, budget management, programming/scheduling, including preparing and presenting Capital Expenditure Proposals— Managing change within projects (design, scope, cost etc.) — Managing the overall health and safety of the projects, ensuring the projects were compliant with CDM regulations. This includes the development of SOPs and Method Statements as well as the monitoring of Permits to Work and Risk Assessments— The management of commercial matters as well as the selection, vetting and approval of contractors to carry out projects. — Setting up of new commercial contracts with other on site clients— Upon project completion part of the handover process involves us producing O&M manuals detailing; all equipment and assets, their life spans, maintenance and service schedules according to manufacturer’s literature and current legislation. — Managing large on site organisational restructures and running the whole consultations and redundancy process.— Managing the whole FM account in the absence of the account manager ensuring all FM services (hard, soft, specialist) are still being delivered in line with client expectations.

— Obtaining various quotes for client requested work, — Planning in the work with the relevant clients, being responsible for planning and implementing the health and safety of each project, ensuring work was completed within specified timescales — Snagging then handing over completed projects to the client. In this role, as well as managing a number of projects, taking the leading role in a small projects team, I also managed the monthly facility management to the GMP manufacturing clean room areas.
