Occupational Safety, Health, And Environment Superintendent
CurrentPerformes safety and occupational health duties in one or more areas of Occupational Safety. Conducted periodic inspections and evaluations on numerous programs such as high-risk activity programs, supervisory safety training, mobility, contingency, and emergency/disaster preparedness to determine compliance with appropriate occupational safety and health regulations. Documents annual and special inspection in detailed format ensuring compliance with guidance. Briefed Unit Commanders and Safety representatives on inspection results and identifies corrective actions and risk mitigation recommendations. Serves as the investigation officer for formal mishap investigations such as Safety Investigation Boards (SIB) involving class A and B mishaps. Obtained statements from witnesses, photographed mishap scene, recorded circumstances of mishap and extent of injuries, estimates cost of property damage, and prepares a formal report of findings with proposed recommendations and abatement actions. Prepares, reviewed and transmitted formal reports using the Air Force Safety Automated System (AFSAS) program. Used statistical data to prepare semi-annual charts and tables for trend analysis reports. Based on observed trends, recommended and implemented training aimed at mishap prevention. Administered base level AFSAS accounts for all applicable base personnel and Motorcycle Utilization Safety Tracking (MUST) tool for unit motorcycle safety representatives. Provides technical safety training/instruction to lSOXl Safety Professionals in upgrade training to 5 and 7 skill level, supervisors, employees, and/or unit safety representatives on a wide range of work operations areas, such as traffic safety techniques, proper storage of hazardous materials, common workplace hazards, and building evacuation procedures.
