During medical school and after graduation, I have successfully developed loyal relationships with physicians, such as Primary Care Physicians, Internists, Neurosurgeons and Pediatricians; as well as Psychologists, Physician Assistant’s and Nurse Practitioners. My medical degree gives me the advantage of knowing many areas of medicine including: pharmacology, pathology, anatomy and physiology, systems processes, medical terminology, research, and cost issues that doctor’s face today. Many doctors feel that I have a unique ability to interact with patients. I am more mature than some of my younger colleagues and this gives me an advantage in many areas of medicine. I understand what physicians deal with on a day-to-day basis and the time constraints they work under. I have completed various research projects and have put in extra effort to develop an understanding of patients’ and physicians’ needs. After spending 15 years as a professional musician, I was inspired to go back to school to become a physician by a close doctor friend. In 1998 I received my A.S. in Psychology. In 2001, I earned my B.S. in Health Science and Public Health, and finally in 2010, my MD.I feel that going back to school as an adult has given me a greater appreciation for education and completing one’s goals.
